Music Explorers (SEND)
A programme of whole-class musical learning, which takes place during the school day. You could choose for the whole class to focus on a single instrument, or we can provide a range of instruments to support the needs of your students. This could include tuned and untuned percussion, iPads with accessible music apps, other accessible electronic instruments, and microphones for children who love to sing!
You can choose from 10 week, 20 week or 30 week programmes.
Cost:
£300 for 10 week programme of 45 minute sessions:
£340 for 10 week programme of 60 minute sessions
These prices are subsidised by WEMA. Bookings can be taken for 10, 20 or 30 weeks. Schools are not permitted to pass on charges to parents for this programme.
Music Lessons
We offer 1-1 lessons on a range of instruments and voice, including traditional orchestral and pop instruments, DJing, Music Production, and inclusive or accessible technology instruments. We can also support with identifying and acquiring adaptive instruments e.g. one-handed flutes. If choosing one instrument is a barrier, we can also offer creative sessions that offer the same depth of learning, using a range of instruments and a creative approach.
Lessons are delivered by a SEND-experienced teacher and follow the needs and interests of the child, recognising different types of progression and development.
Music lessons are delivered in school during the school day on the requested instrument, at times negotiated between WEMA and the school.
Cost: Schools are charged an hourly rate of £48.65
Some schools use Pupil Premium to support families with the costs of music lessons. Please see our Help With Costs page for more info.
We are also able to provide instrumental loans for students at £41 per long term and free for PP students. We are unable to loan electric guitars or drum kits.
