We aim to foster a connection with music to help all young musicians to become independently motivated learners. Our experienced teachers set achievable goals, and encourage and celebrate progress. They also use creative and progressive musical learning techniques, provide progress reports, and the opportunity, where appropriate, to take external examinations and receive accreditations. We encourage parents/carers to support their child’s music making at home.
Instrumental and voice lessons are available in your school and at a WEMA Music Centre near you in the evenings and at weekends. These lessons can support children develop skills in many different ways:

- Improve memory, concentration, and coordination
- Encourage creativity and self-expression
- Enhance listening and teamwork skills
- Provide a sense of achievement and discipline
We offer lessons in:
Brass – Tuba, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, French horn
Woodwind – Flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, saxophone
Strings – violin and viola, cello and double bass
Singing – all types of voice
Piano, keyboard, drum kit, percussion and guitar
DJ, Music Production

We often work with schools to run a large group/music club lesson which adds a more accessible route for those that might find the costs prohibitive. Inquire with your school as bookings for this type of offer are managed by the school.
How it works
Depending on your school, parents/carers can either:
- Register directly with us using the registration button below (we then let the school know there is a new student and make arrangements to teach the student in their school). If your school is not showing on the drop down menu on our registration portal you will need to…
- Sign up directly with the school (then your school asks us to deliver instrumental/voice lessons)
For home-schools students, those in long-term medical care, or NEET, you can arrange lessons at a non-school location. We will agree with you a convenient location at which the lesson can be delivered. We will process your application and contact you to discuss the arrangements.

Instrument Hire
WEMA offers instrument hire for £41 per long term (autumn, spring, summer). All instruments are available to hire except keyboard, ukulele, recorder, and drum kit. Free of charge for Pupil Premium students (if eligible); simply select this option on the registration portal, using the orange button above.
