Session one: Introduction to Kodály : from singing games to musical literacy
10am – 1pm
For music teachers who are new to Kodály, or those who would like a refresher!
Chris will guide us through the cornerstones of Kodály inspired education, developing student musicianship through games and activities that will truly enhance your delivery and inspire your students! We will explore what a singing-based curriculum looks like, the 3 P’s: Preparation, Presentation and Practice, and how to use solfege and rhythm names as tools. You’ll leave the session armed with a range of exciting new resources to inject fun into your own delivery.

Session two: Teacher toolkit : The Primary School Choir
2pm – 5pm
For singing leaders who to explore new choir repertoire and develop musicianship in young singers
In this session, Chris guides us through tried and tested children’s choir repertoire. We learn ways to teach songs quickly and effectively, and how to use Kodály-inspired tools to develop choral musicianship.
