Party in the City Workshop and Performance

15 May
Free
the west of england music and arts 3

On Friday 15th May, we are hosting a regional orchestral workshop led by Pete Harrison, conductor with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Klassik Radio Pops Orchestra.

This high-quality orchestral workshop is for secondary-aged musicians and will take place at the Forum in Bath from 8.30am – 3pm. The session is open to all acoustic instrumentalists of grade 1 standard and above and we will ensure that you have the level of part that works for you. You will need to read music and we will provide music for the workshop ahead of time so that you can prepare before the day. You will rehearse alongside peers from across the region under the direction of an internationally respected conductor and WEMA’s Team of high-level music educationalists will be there to support you.

The experience will culminate in a public performance opening the WEMA Youth Stage at Bath Festival’s Party in the City in the Forum in Bath at 5.30pm, a free event that brings together thousands of participants and audience members and is a major showcase for young musicians. Opportunities of this calibre are infrequent and form a significant milestone in students’ musical development.

You will need to commit to the workshop and performance in order to take part. If you would like to take part in this amazing opportunity and experience, please  Click here to book now

There will be a limit on the number of places so please apply early. The booking deadline is 16th April.
