Unscripted
Unscripted is a three-day holiday creative music course for young people with additional needs or barriers to learning. We provide a fun, safe and creative space for young people to explore, discover and create music, led by professional musicians. No previous musical experience is needed. Children should be in school years 4-8, and be able to take part as independent learners.
Next Unscripted Course – Autumn 2024
The next Unscripted course runs from October 28th to October 30th at Milton Park Primary School, Milton Park Road, Weston-Super-Mare BS22 8DY
This is a drop-off session, children should be able to support themselves as independent learners for the full three days of the course. We ask that children attend all three days, as we will be creating music together over the whole course.
Squash will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch, water bottle and any additional drinks and snacks needed.
Please note that places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Contact jenni.parkinson@wema.org.uk directly to book a place(s).
Unscripted offers young people, especially those with SEND, from vulnerable and challenging backgrounds and those who most benefit from the transformative power of music, the chance to express themselves, build confidence and explore their ideas through creative music and the performing arts.
You don’t need to be able to play an instrument or read music. Just come along, join in on an instrument that inspires you and see where the experience leads.
We offer a variety of targeted courses during the year, each with a specific age-range or target group of young people, so we can tailor our activities to best suit each group.
Courses run for three during school holidays and end with a sharing for parents, carers, family and friends. See above for details of our next course. If you have any questions, just contact us via email.
