Bristol Beacon stage set for Creative & Connected Live!
More than 200 young performers from across Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Bath & North East Somerset will take to the iconic Bristol Beacon stage for Creative & Connected Live! — a joyful celebration of youth music and arts in our region.
The audience will be treated to massed ensembles drawn from our Music Centres, including a senior players' orchestra, jazz and concert bands, plus rock and pop groups, youth DJ sets, and the Music Explorers 100 — a massed instrumental ensemble of new and novice primary-age musicians playing alongside their more experienced peers.
Between performances, a series of short films will shine a light on WEMA's wider work in music, arts and creative health across North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, BANES and Bristol.
This is more than a concert. It is a celebration of what happens when young people are given the opportunity to create, perform and belong. It is also a big thank you to the teachers, tutors, staff, families and communities who make that creativity possible.
The evening comes at an important time for WEMA, as it follows the recent publication of independent research confirming our Cultural Education Hub as an innovative, inclusive and cost-effective model for delivering cultural opportunities to children and young people across the West of England. You can read more about the research on our Research Page.
WEMA is very grateful to our partners at Bristol Beacon for hosting us in their iconic venue. Creative & Connected Live! is open to the public; we'd love you to join us!
